18th century holiday cottage in southern France, open June – September 2018
Surrounded by wild flower meadows, mountains and lakes, deep in southern France, our holiday cottage offers a cosy, romantic retreat for couples and a fun, relaxed space for families. Recommended by Sawdays’s, A Special place to stay, rated Excellent on Tripadvisor since our first year. Beautifully restored from the ancient piggery and barn, traditional French country character infused with stylish, modern comforts – “the mix of old and new is delightful.” On the tiny pedestrianised village square beside the beautiful old church, a great base for exploring Languedoc and the Midi. Enjoy dinner on your candlelit terrace to the sound of cowbells, or on the square by the lovely old church and know this is why you came to this beautiful, unspoilt corner of southern France.
Step from the square into the well equipped kitchen / dining room leading to the ground floor double bedroom with en-suite loo and secret courtyard garden with a beautiful wrought iron table & chairs for 2. The hand made oak staircase takes you to the salon with private roof terrace and dining table and chairs. The olive and fig trees growing from the garden below offer privacy and there are lovely views across the fields and hills. The bathroom with claw foot bath and shower over is on this floor. The staircase continues to the 2 bedrooms on the top floor, 1 private and intimate double room, and 1 twin room across the tiny landing, perfect for children. A cot can fit in these bedrooms.
