With an emphasis on fresh and local, provenance of the food is assured…

Relaxed dining every evening for guests of our bed & breakfast and for those who want a break from self-catering in the cottage. Traditional French home cooking with a fine dining twist, menus reflect the seasons and the sun-drenched flavours of Languedoc and the Midi, “ dessert I’ve ever tasted” (baked peaches in butterscotch sauce). Organic produce from the potager, tomatoes still warm from the vine, figs from the ancient trees…

Dinner is 4 delicious courses including coffee and some very nice regional wines (30 euros). Served in summer on the candle lit terrace or on the square by the church. In cooler months, the old stone walls of the dining room in what was originally the barn, provide a lovely ambiance. “..the sauce was worth the flight from Melbourne” (sweet red pepper bruschetta). Nick is cordon bleu trained, just ask if you have a vegetarian, gluten or dairy free diet. His Chef’s Blog might amuse you.

Dinner is complemented by quality wines from local vignerons. Blanquette de Limoux, the local sparkling wine, produced for centuries in the next valley makes a fabulous aperitif. A number of caves are within easy driving of the house where you can sample and purchase wines direct from the producer. Le Cave de Guinot in Limoux, established 1875 is one of our favourites, tours of the cellars in English can be booked in advance, worth it just to see the rows of 500,000 bottles still turned by hand.
