Welcome to our 18th century holiday cottage and bed and breakfast in the south of France…
On the peaceful village square in the hills south of Carcassonne, our beautifully restored 3 bedroom holiday cottage and bed and breakfast offer stylish, family friendly accommodation. Close to the medieval bastide of Mirepoix – the best market in the region - Carcassonne & Toulouse airports an easy drive.
The sandy beaches and turquoise blue waters of Lake Montbel are 5kms, kayaks and sailing dinghies for hire. Our French holiday home is cyclist friendly, we have maps to lend and can help plan routes; bike hire available locally. Explore famous Cathar sites, Montsegur and the fairytale citadel of Carcassonne are close. Horse riding, bird watching, “wild” swimming in the river and lakes; tour chateaux and vineyards, shop at the farmers’ markets or take painting classes in Mirepoix. If all this sounds too much, choose a book from the library, pour yourself a glass of something and listen to the sound of the cowbells from a comfy lounger that has your name on it.
The food is fresh and local, its provenance assured, much is grown organically on our potager. Menus reflect the seasons and the sun-drenched flavours of Languedoc washed down with some very nice wines direct from the region. Our hens scratch around in the garden at the back providing eggs for your fluffy omelette at breakfast, the kids love to collect them. Let us know if you require gluten or dairy free.
